I can agree with the previous commenter, in that purple has forever altered my brain chemistry.
I don't know if he was created with Alexithymia in mind. But as someone with Alexithymia, an affinity for complicated strategy, and very dry and occasionally cruel humor that doesn't rear its head often, I can say that I may be one of the first people to kin, if not borderline be an IRL of one of your characters. (Im dying to know if this was intentional because he is such good alexithymia representation and everyone who will listen to the ravings of a madman[me] knows this.)
But you guys have seen me ramble in your patreon enough to know that I am Not Normal about these games.
I bought this game 2 years ago and it still holds up ! I decided to replay it as a I had finally gotten ahold of Royal Order and connecting everything Alchemist sets up to Order has been entertaining . Order simply expands on what Alchemist already achieved - an interesting fantasy story with tales of romance and mystery that keep you enthralled the whole time . To anyone looking for a good visual novel I highly recommend this !
quick funny spoiler below
Raphael and Harris were the og doomed yaoi 2 years ago fr
Hello. Sorry if this question has already been asked, but how much time is there between the coronation of Seirin and the post-game on the Aurelius' ending, please?
The CG and the description seem to indicate that several years have passed, but I'm not sure...
I'm also curious to know how much time passes between Royal Alchemist and Royal Order, given that the Sval are invading Eskia in Aurelius' ending?
Edit: I have the answer: Epilogue should happen at the start or right before the start of Royal Order, which means 3 years.
Bought this on steam and have to say this is the best visual novel I've played in recent years and yes, I played a lot, Chinese, English, Japanese, on steam and on phone, some made by famous big corporations. If you ever have any plan for localization (Chinese), I'd be most happy to volunteer!
However I do find one problem: any CG that involves MC needs to be unlocked twice (male/female appearance) seems a bit annoying. Especially Serin and Aurelius both have one at the very end of their romance ending (plus one in Serin bad ending), which means I cannot unlock it while attempting for any other endings, but can only repeat again. Also I'm curious how to unlock Serin's last CG in gallery as I've got all achievements but am not sure about that one.
SPOILER ALERT
Anything to do with Aurelius's water magic level at a certain event?
I played it on Steam and by far one of the best Visual Novels I have ever played. As I went through the story, I found myself so interested and absorbed that I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Despite dying a couple of times and having to go back, I was hooked and eager to know more. I’m definitely going to try to get more endings! (Aurelius is definitely my favorite T_T)
I bawled my eyes out over this game. 13 HOURS ON THIS GAME . (11 on steam, 2 on demo) So have a long review of all my experiences because after playing Royal order, it feels like a goodbye to this game
If you are a people pleaser who can't say no, even to fictional characters, this game will probably be difficult. Keeping up with the requests, classes, your stats just to have characters approval is hell
Classes and your stats are the most painful part of this game, even when I maintained all the character's element affinity high as well as my own stats, it was still extremely difficult to pass through certain events, you need to be prepared to save and load A TON of times just to be able to do requests or even survive, personally I has extremely high stats for everything and still died in a specific event over 5 times, it was truly painful.
I re-loaded so many times to woo a character, and yet the ending still made me bawl my eyes out. I was really disappointed, but if you blame this entirely on me for making dumb choices I thought were good, then the game is really good, the art is amazing as is the ambience/vibe, however I feel like somethings were rushed, but the game is still amazing and long, these are MY PERSONAL OPINIONS!!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
For example, at the start our entire escort team dies, right after one of them tells us he misses his wife and kids, and we don't even acknowledge it at all except in one single scene when we're playing chess with Auerileus and it's still only a brief mention. Even the injuries and trauma we get from the starting scene is hardly mentioned, but I can look past this, it may have just been a scene to set the mood and setting for the game, not much thought into it, but when Nazir goes missing in the other endings, it's barely mentioned again and we never see him until it's only mentioned in the end that he came back, it felt a bit disappointing as you never really find out what happened unless you do his route. The injuries we get from fighting Rapheal are barely mentioned either, we literally twist our ankle and can't walk, but suddenly after he dies and we go with the king, we can walk just fine and even when the king asks if we're okay we say, "We're fine"? But to be fair, I may have missed something, Sala may have helped us and I didn't read that part so please don't take my review really seriously Also this game is extremely dialouge heavy, which is fine if you like really plot important stories, also the wooing of characters take so long and might not even end up in your favour. I did everything for Auerileus and Nazir and I still got a bittersweet ending where I never see them again. Only invest in it if you know you can spend hours making sure you get every small detail right. Eventually I did get my first romance ending with Serin, after trying most of the route's. I had to follow a guide online and still had to save and reload a couple of times, my patience was thoroughly tested, which is why I also have a (loving) hate for this game but this is what I have to say about each character's route.
Nazir: His romantic one felt honestly slow-paced, the entire time it felt extremely platonic until hours in, I honestly thought he had feelings for Ishbell at one point (not because they acted romantically, but because my progress with him was very slow). Yes, there was cute moments but I felt they could easily be interpreted as platonic. So, on the other hand, his friendship route is very easy to get.
Aurelius: His was surprisingly a little faster than Nazir's, there's a lot of romantic tension throughout the story, and it was good. Still felt a bit cliché to me, especially when it came to the faking bit, I won't go into detail for spoilers, but if you know you know, and if you don't then you will realise what I mean the moment the scene comes up. For friendship, you don't really get along at the start which makes for development which is cute, but I'd say his friendship feels harder to get than the other brothers.
Serin: I loved his route, it was really cute, with romantic tendencies from the start. It's my favourite route, because it has a balance of everything, cute stuff, implied spicy stuff, domesticity, etc. It was a tiny bit cliché too but at this point everything is, so I can't complain, I loved it. Out of all the routes I'd say his is the fastest in romance, second in friendship.
But, even if I have a hate, love, toxic, addicted, relationship with this game, It's still extremely well-made. I personally would only recommend it if you have patience and are willing to spend hours over a fictional man on your screen. Yea. Doesn't sound so great now. Don't be chronically online like me.
IM SORRY IF ANY PARTS SEEM MAD, I WOULD PROBABLY NEVER CHANGE A THING AB THIS GAME, I LOVE IT hence why I hold really strong emotions towards it
Just bought the game on Steam and I am hooked. Currently trying to achieve Aurelius's route. I just want to say thank you for making this game, it is totally my kind of game.
Hello! If you bought the game on Steam, you can go into your Steam library > Scroll down the list on the left to find Royal Alchemist > Right Click on the game > Browse local files.
I like the game so far, Haven't completed it yet, but whenever I would see an achievement unlock thing I could never find what achievement I unlocked. When looking at the achievements it only shows my death achievements...am I missing something or am I just confusing myself. I don't know but regardless I love the game so far.
I wasn't going to buy the game at first but playing the demo really got hooked so I did. Definitely worth it.
there are walkthroughs, but you can save frequently, and there should be a menu that has your path progress. I forget which tab has it, but you'll know if you made the right choice depending on if the progress bar next to the route your going for has gone up or down. (Imo the routes arent difficult to get right fundamentally. It's just making sure you have enough points in the right stats when need be.)
Out of curiousity, are some of the BG art purchased from asset stores? That office/room in the schedule screenshot is the exact same BG I once saw in some Japanese game, and I imagine that they must have bought it from the same store.
While our team is looking into mobile ports at the moment, we don't have an exact schedule for that yet and will post a public announcement once we do. Thank you for your interest!
this game is really incredible. BUT YOU MUST PERSEVERE!!! I died so much that it was funny XD So bad that I can't find the music on spotify or something like that. Especially the one with the piano. So beautiful
I only did Aurelius route so far but it was gorgeous.
I just wanted to add my 2 cents about how amazing this game was! As someone who often looks for more inclusivity in otome/rpg games, I think the way you were able to choose the MC's pronouns was amazing. The game was spectacular and phenomenal as expected, and I can't wait for the release of the Royal Order. Keep up the great work, I'll be sure to support Nifty Visuals in the future!
The cute little drawings when you do alchemy and missions are just too adorable. This game has so much depth and so many possible endings, it's incredible. A tad more complicated than my preference (even on easy mode), but it's still been a lot of fun.
I never did figure out how to continue playing (with or without the bonus stats) once it takes you to the title screen after a death, so I always just ended up loading the latest safe file that'd let me live ^^
So far I've gotten 4 endings and I'm trying to collect all of the CG's. Might end up having to cheat and get the walkthrough, but we'll see.
I haven't finished a route yet, but so far I am enjoying the story and its characters! I have a question though, Will there ever be routes for other characters like Nerifiel for example?
It's less that he's the most important, he's simply accepted by the clan as their leader, and can represent them at any important events and will be the one they can come to in times of troubles. We hope that answers your question! :)
On the download page of this game (you can access it on the top of the game page or in your purchased games library), there should be a red button below all download files that states "Redeem your steam key" or a display area for the Steam key if it's already redeemed. We hope that helps!
Hello, do you perhaps have the exact titles of the songs used/the authors written somewhere? I'm looking for a specific song but going through the entire discographies of all these artists to search for one is making me bang my head against the wall, lol. Thanks.
... when the MC and Serin are kissing in the MC's room just before his coronation. It starts the moment I click "spur him on" I think, Serin stays in the room and they are about to make some love and there's a CG of them kissing on the bed. The track starts with a piano, after some time I think that's cello that kicks in? It's a very mysterious, magical and whimsical tune. I love it, it gives me so many feelings.
I just finished it after going in blind. I had my first ending and a lot of save slots occupied. XD I got a lot to say, so here goes:
What I love/like:
- the background sound that are sometimes subtle, sometimes apparent: crowd chatter, environment sounds and all
- the plot. I love the rollercoaster ride.
- the loveable characters: main and side!
- the number of save slots I can peruse. (I badly need this as someone who's overly anxious about every decision)
- Nerifiel
- the world-building elements!
- headstrong and a likeable MC (regardless of the choices and approach, I find the MC to have quite a personality that is not to be undermined)
- dynamic emotions and expressions shown in characters, even in the MC!
What I am less pleased about are just a few:
1. the sprite changing from one position to another: one moment the charac is on the leftmost part, the next line, they're on the other end. It's distracting and a bit annoying. Only got used to it later, but it was something I really don't appreciate in the game
2. In the save slot sections, I wish you can sidescroll the page numbers beyond 10. Though there is an arrow button, I hardly knew it was to flip to another page if I didn't happen to randomly click about. Was this intended or a bug on my part?
3. I can't romance Neri (sulks in the corner). Just kidding! XD I appreciate platonic relationships in the game, and I gotta say, Neri and MC's was really pleasant!
So yeah, just two things I didn't like. XD
I understand that the difficulty of going through the whole game lies on its gameplay of stat-building rather than it just being plain difficult. Also, I know it's one factor for replayability, so I respect it.
Still don't understand about the Daily Death Count as I never had those? Was it because I kept loading a previous saves after dying once, twice, thrice and so forth? Were they never counted if I do that? :O Anyway, I ought to find out in my next playthroughs. Another inquiry/ies: How many endings does one LI have? I'm assuming among the 8 endings, some of them could be an ending to encounter in common route or in times when MC chooses no one (is that even possible?)
To sum it up, I love the game! It took me half a day to finish. I decided to purchase it after playing the Royal Order's demo, to satiate my craving for the full completion of that game. I wasn't disappointed! Great job with the games! :D
Is this game still getting updates? Like I checked and the steam version's latest update was a year ago. Is it on hold for steam or is it generally paused. Also I was reading on a site that said cheats were going to be added to the game or something akin to that. Could I get some information on this? Thanks.
Hello! The game is, for now, completed. We're currently working on an indirect sequel.
Depending on how things go, we might revisit some features at a later time and if major bugs are encountered, we will fix them, but the story and everything in general is completed.
So got the game on steam but I'll also post a review here...
Completely and utterly amazing!!
I have a good 50 hours invested already and it is truly a delight to play.
I wasn't sure at the beginning because i don't play stats games but oh boy am I happy? YES! It isn't difficult to raise stats and at the end i find myself just doing missions.
Aurelius route is my OTP followed by Nazir and cutie Serin, haven't seen all the endings yet.
Did I bawled my eyes out with Nazir's route at 4am? Yes, yes I did aha...
The guide is super useful and when I bought it I took the time to read the character profiles and it is so fun and cute.
Kudos for this master piece, but a question since I haven't finished and I love spoilers
SPOILER****
Does Alexis in any of the endings choose to remove the petals?
Thank you so much for the review! We're super happy you're enjoying the game <3
As for your question...
SPOILER***
Alexis won't ever choose to remove the petals in any of the endings, since the only way to do that requires too much sacrifice. In Serin's bad ending, they will accidentally remove them temporarily, but will forever lose their magical abilities afterward.
Of course, if we ever explore this world a bit more with Alexis, we're sure they'll find something that can be done~ But for now, Alexis will bravely choose to live with them :D
I don't have the heart to play Serin's bad ending yet, I am too happy with the fluff and lovey dovey stuff but maybe when I dare to play it I'll definitely check it out!! ಥ‿ಥ
Um I pre-ordered this game then played for a while before uninstalling it for other stuff, but now when I wanted to download it again to play, it doesn't let me? Normally itch let's you know how long you've bought this game for, but now I can't see the download link anymore and it said I have to pay 20$ again to buy the game?
Is it possible to recover my purchase pls? I can't even see this game in the "My purchase" on itch anymore.
Edit: I still have it on my steam account...I just can't find it on my Itch account
Hello! Do you perhaps remember where you pre-ordered the game? We cannot find your username in our purchase history on itch. And if you pre-ordered the game on our Xsolla page, it's the Steam version only.
You can also send us an email to royal.alchemist.bugs[at]gmail.com with the email address of your account and we can attempt to find you with that. Thanks!
I enjoyed this game quite a bit. I played through on Aurelius' and reached the happy romance ending, and it was fulfilling. The personalities of the side characters were endearing, especially getting to know Cerdiwen's backstory! I will definitely play through again in the future and probably go after Serin next time. 5/5!
This is such a fun game, well worth the price! Thank you very much for producing this lovely piece of art; kudos all around!
I have currently unlocked all the romance endings and Serin's bad ending. I'm finding the friendship endings surprisingly hard to achieve than the romances! This is likely because I'm using the romance save files, starting roughly halfway through each plot, and making choices in an attempt to get friendship-only routes. For reals, if you get only 50% of the route bar but accidentally get another cutscene, it rounds up and the romance WILL persist! Not that I have any problems reliving those wonderful scenes ^_^ Need a fan for some of the Aurelius content, phew! After this, the plan is to get the last ending aka all non-romance! I do wonder what that will be like + if that is what is needed to unlock the final MC portrait. My notes on Serin's bad ending and villains... SPOILERS below --
How COULD you!? Not our beautiful bae! TT No, but really, for an obligatory sacrifice story route, this was truly well done. The art for distraught Alexi(s) is truly heart-wrenching. As for villains--Lady Ishbell's reasons were credible and understandable, if extremely sad. I adore the split arcs for Nazir as a result of her betrayal--gotta say, his Rosenkreuz awakening was by far my favorite twist! Him and Berringer are too adorable with their antics. In general, love how Berringer works into all the endings. Harris' and Raphael's endings are tragic, and their motives make a little less sense to me? On Aurelius' route, I enjoy getting to see how close these two are, and Raphael's devotion to Harris *does* make sense... but enough to die for him? O.o I would have loved to have seen Harris expand further upon his grief over Raphael's death/why that leads to his really rash decisions towards the end, more than the MC puzzling it out a bit at the end once he is captured.
Quick tiny note for devs--on Nazir's romance route, I noticed that his mini portrait (the one featured in the classes menu) pops up randomly on a few of the later scenes, which seems like an error since that does not occur on other routes. I believe it happens in the "working together at the tavern" scene and one or two others.
Thank you so much for playing and the detailed review!
Admittedly, it can be quite hard sometimes to get on the non-romance endings if you accidentally catch the key scenes, yes :'D We're happy you're having fun replaying though! And glad you're enjoying the characters too.
As for Nazir's mini portrait issue, thank you for reporting! We'll keep an eye out for them for a future fix.
Currently doing Nazir route (for like 2 days now but i only play during my free time) and i just wanted to say i love their interactions.
Spoiler-
I love how the MC starts to slowly joke around like Nazir. Their back and forths just makes me laugh so much.I swear while i was playing his route i was rolling around so much in bed squealing LOL. I paused my gameplay when Nazir planned to leave to learn more about the Rosenkurez and I decided to continue another time (when i have free time) ....I screamed into my pillow when i didnt get to tell Nazir how i felt. Ugh i love this so much! The art is amazing too! Ngl I was also so hurt when i found out Ishbell was a traitor (almost cried)...I had a feeling but like I didnt think she really was...but anyways. What a emotional ride so far, really enjoying it.
I regret not buying it earlier...silly me.
Also im curious: Is there a path where Nazir doesnt Awaken ?
currently praying theres a shirtless nazir scene
Continuation: So i lied and kept on playing...Raphael was just revealed to be a traitor and I swear to you I called it. Told myself "I hope Raphael isn't evil, especially Sala"...Honestly Im starting to realize you really just cant trust nobody in this story. never know whos aiming at you when your not looking.
Now my head is hurting...I can't tell who's mind controlled and whos actually doing this without being mind controlled...Im just like..what is going on.
The King is truly Handsome.
Finished the route. Amazing story ,art,etc...my relief went away at the "Ending 2". I still have a long way ahead but Im definitely in love with this vn and im definitely buying your next one!

For the lovely review too of course, we're glad you enjoyed the game! (And our weakness for some clichéd romance preferences *coughs coughs*)
Just bought the game on Steam and I am hooked. Currently trying to achieve Aurelius's route. I just want to say thank you for making this game, it is totally my kind of game.
Glad the game is working for you and you're enjoying it :D Good luck romancing our dearest Aurie~
Is this game 18+ with sexual content?
No, this game is rated PG :)
Thanks for the reply
We need more Otome/BL games where you choose protagonist gender but the love interests stay male. <3
Though I lament, it probably means we won't get the typical yuri option that some otome games have. Ah well, small price to pay.
Hi! I would like to know how to find the guide, just brought I don't know where is it
Hello! If you bought the game on Steam, you can go into your Steam library > Scroll down the list on the left to find Royal Alchemist > Right Click on the game > Browse local files.
In there, you should be able to find the guide!
I like the game so far, Haven't completed it yet, but whenever I would see an achievement unlock thing I could never find what achievement I unlocked. Hello and thank you so much! Glad you're enjoying the game :D
Regarding the achievements page, there should be arrows on the right/left to switch the achievement page! We hope that clarifies it.
Thank you <3
How much is this game in MYR? Just wondering. I want to play it but I'm worry about how much it'll cost
Im not sure if online converters are accurate, but the one i used says itd be roughly 92.85MYR
Is there a walkthrough or is one not needed to get a good ending with love interests?
there are walkthroughs, but you can save frequently, and there should be a menu that has your path progress. I forget which tab has it, but you'll know if you made the right choice depending on if the progress bar next to the route your going for has gone up or down. Thank you but would you by chance know any links to the walkthroughs ? I have looked and been unable to find any.
(sorry i just saw this)
i dont know of any walkthroughs that cover every ending aside from the official one. but if I find any, ill let you know
Thank You very much !
If you haven't played this yet wtf are you doing with your life?
i played this for the first time in December
i come back to it religiously
If i stay away from it for too long, the sound effects are better than therapy
this is what i get when i play a phenomenal VN not long after coming out to my family i suppose
Out of curiousity, are some of the BG art purchased from asset stores? That office/room in the schedule screenshot is the exact same BG I once saw in some Japanese game, and I imagine that they must have bought it from the same store.
Some of the BG art assets are from a royalty free store, yes.
Oh, do you mind if I ask what's the store? I've been looking to get/buy BG assets, but I've not been finding very many of them...
Question!
Any plans for android and consoles?
Hello!
Can't wait Alchemist order
Thank you so much <3 Glad you enjoyed it!
I love it, and I really did not see the betrayal happening, like I'm so close to the ending but plot twist after plot twist keeps on happening
PS: I'm in love with Aurelius.
I haven't finished a route yet, but so far I am enjoying the story and its characters! I have a question though, Will there ever be routes for other characters like Nerifiel for example?
yknow... there's one thing about this game ive noticed recently, now that im giving Aurelius' route another go.
The game can't seem to decide if his fief is spelt "Zelfos" or "Zelflos"
Not an issue, i just thought it was funny
It's saying a lot that tiny details like this are the only flaws i can find, after replaying this *masterpiece* so many times
Hi!
I passed the Royal Alchemist a long time ago, but I have a question.
Alexis is the child of the head of the Rosenkreuz clan? So Alexis' father is the most important?
I am concerned about these issues.
Hi! Alexis's father is the patriarch of the clan.
It's less that he's the most important, he's simply accepted by the clan as their leader, and can represent them at any important events and will be the one they can come to in times of troubles. We hope that answers your question! :)
Purchasing here is supposed to also give access to a steam key, correct? I can't recall how to receive it, how do i find it?
On the download page of this game (you can access it on the top of the game page or in your purchased games library), there should be a red button below all download files that states "Redeem your steam key" or a display area for the Steam key if it's already redeemed. We hope that helps!
Hello, do you perhaps have the exact titles of the songs used/the authors written somewhere? I'm looking for a specific song but going through the entire discographies of all these artists to search for one is making me bang my head against the wall, lol. Thanks.
Hi! Which track are you referring to? If you can tell us the scene, we might be able to look it up quicker than listing out the whole list XD
Ahh thank you! Most recently I recall playing...
spoiler for Serin's route
... when the MC and Serin are kissing in the MC's room just before his coronation.
That should be "Under the Rain" by frequentlyaskedmusic! We hope we got the right track :D
That's the one, thank you! < 3
Hello. I'm wondering if the dialogue and story ( romance and everything ) are different based on the gender you choose to play as?
Hello! No, the romance and story will be the same regardless of the gender you choose to play as :)
Just a question - is there any mature content in this game?
No, this game is suitable for all ages :)
Alright, thank you! :)
Anyway, I ought to find out in my next playthroughs.
I literally bought the game for the same reason! The Royal Order Demo was such a fun intro to the series :)
Just wanted to know before I spend money for the full game, but how many in-game weeks are there in the full game?
Hello! The full game contains 60 in-game weeks.
The guide is spoiler free so I dunno.
Thanks Ó╭╮Ò
Thanks for the reply!
Thank you so much for playing! :D We're happy you enjoyed the game. And good luck on getting on Serin's route <3
Thank you so much for the kind words! So happy you're enjoying the game and thanks for the support :D
(No matter which path you take, what happens to Nazir on his route will still happen. There is no way around it v_v )
Spoiler-
Before meeting the king I honestly thought it happened because he kissed the MC wound in the bar.
